Exercising your right to vote

October 29 - Another milestone for Philippine Politics. According to the papers, the just concluded Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections were largely peaceful. Well, a school just went up in flames and a number of people killed in so-called “isolated outbursts of violence” throughout the country… Hmmm… peaceful, don’t you think?

It makes me stop and think what “largely peaceful” means… With the recent violence caused by the over zealous candidates and their cohorts coupled with say a bottle or two of beer… If this is what “largely peaceful means”, it makes me cringe to know what “somewhat peaceful” may mean.

Anyway, according to  news reports, over 60% Filipinos exercised their rights to vote. Not bad… What happened to the other say 35-40%? Sad to say but I am a part of the minority, I was not able to vote because of very valid reasons. I know I should vote, if only to exercise my rights.  But…

A letter to my angels

I am republishing this letter I did for my babies, the original post is at 1Million Love Messages:

 

My beautiful angels,

The smiles that wake me up, the kisses that rains on my face, the hugs of delight and those little stares. Those are things that make my day each day.

Sometimes, I may be too tired to hug you or to kiss both of you, especially after work. But remember my babies, Mommy loves you so much
and would never do anything to hurt you.

You are my life, my inspiration, I could never imagine life without the both of you and your tatay too.

I never thought life could be this sweet, I never thought I would be this lucky. I know that someday, you will grow up and leave. I can not do anything about that, and I wouldn’t even if I could. I want the both of you to learn from your mistakes just the way I did with mine because those mistakes will make you a better person than you were before.

If things get really bad, or if you just need a hug from Mommy, go home and I will always be glad to shower you with hugs and kisses and lots of loving care.

If Mommy is no longer here, don’t fret my little angels because Mommy will always find a way to make you feel my love. I love your Tatay and the both of you so much that I would do anything, give up everything just to make you happy.

Remember my babies, my love will always be there. You may not be aware of that right now because you are both still too young, but someday, somehow you will see how much your Mommy loves you.

What the heck?!

A Friendster Blog... something that I do not want to do for a number of reasons:

1. It is a Friendster Blog, meaning it is hosted by Friendster, meaning they (Friendster) and not me are getting the ad profits.
2. It takes precious time and effort to manage, something that I do have in abundance.
3. I have enough to do with my own hosted blog, Be Thumbed, and another blog is just too much.
3. I have to redo this post and it is pissing me out, stupid back button!!!

So why the heck am I still doing it? Simple - backlinks.

Back to basics, why Warped Kaleidoscope?

A stone can be a monster, a solitary leaf can be an alien spaceship and a piece of paper can be a ghost. It is just a matter of perspective coupled with imagination.
We live in a world nestled between worlds and it takes a person with imagination to see that. I am not saying that I have imagination in abundance, its just that I am an open-minded person, I am not afraid to believe anything, I am not afraid to experiment, I let my imagination wander and I widen my perspective.

On that note, Warped Kaleidoscope is a window into my perspectives. You may not like it, you may not believe it, you may even laugh at me. But what the heck, this is my blog, if you don't like it, go flush yourself!
